HSK 5 writing
HSK 5 writing has two parts: a story of at least 100 characters based on four pictures, and an essay of at least 200 characters. You have 40 minutes.

How it's marked
The HSK marks writing in bands. For the top band, your answer must:
- use every required word and cover every point asked for;
- reach the minimum length;
- have no grammar errors and no wrong characters (错别字);
- be coherent and logical, with enough content for the level.
Three or more wrong characters put an answer in the low band. The guide marks correct, fluent Chinese, not deep ideas.

去年我刚到一家新公司工作的时候，遇到了一个很大的困难：我不太会在会上做报告。每次开会，同事们都能把自己的想法说得很清楚，而我总是很紧张，说话也没有条理。
为了解决这个问题，我想了几个办法。首先，每次开会以前，我都会认真准备，把要说的内容写下来，分成几个部分。其次，我在家里反复练习，还请朋友听我讲，给我提意见。另外，我也注意观察那些报告做得好的同事，学习他们的方法。
三个月以后，我的报告有了很大的进步，经理还表扬了我。通过这件事，我明白了一个道理：遇到困难的时候不要害怕，只要找对方法，坚持努力，就一定能解决。
Why it's top band
- Three clear paragraphs: the problem, what was done, the result and lesson.
- Lists the solutions with 首先、其次、另外.
- Uses level-appropriate structures correctly (把……说得很清楚, 只要……就……).
- Ends with a personal lesson that answers the second half of the question.
